The UK's largest independent soapbox race returns!

Get ready for a thrilling spectacle full of jumps, near misses and perhaps the odd spectacular crash! On April 30th 2022 Great Dunmow Round Table will crown their fourth winner in what has become one of Europe's largest Soapbox Races.

With over 700 teams waiting to join 70 already taking part, you can be sure it'll raise an extraordinary sum for charities - more than a mighty £75k to date!

Last year in a stunning upset, "Greased Lightning" - an underdog scout group with the odds stacked against them – blew away professional racers in the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race. At the finish line, Jeremy Graves proudly declared that there was no stopping him and his team from taking home this year's top prize! With success like this under their belts, competition is sure to be fierce at next year's race. Don't miss out on witnessing history being made first-hand!

Skip the cars, trucks and motorbikes – when it comes to racing, the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race is taking things back to basics! These homemade soapbox vehicles are far from your average racer; they just might be the most creative form of transport you've ever seen. While not believed to be as fast or glamorous as your traditional sports car, this classic race provides endless opportunities for excitement and laughs. If you don't want to miss out on the unusual spectacle of people powering their carts with nothing but gravity around an obstacle course, then Great Dunmow's Soapbox race should definitely be on your bucket list!

The Great Dunmow Soapbox Race is organised by Great Dunmow Round Table, a charity made up of men aged 18 - 45 who voluntarily hold fundraising events for local charities, causes, and individuals who need a helping hand. Over the past 10 years, the charity has raised over £250,000 for the local community through events such as fireworks night, Santa’s sleigh and concert nights.

Due to the sheer popularity of this event, extra measures are being made to facilitate the 20,000 plus people who are expected to attend this year. This will include three giant screens, a larger film crew, more entertainment, and more exhilarating and challenging obstacles.
